Mark Sensing is a world-class manufacturer and supplier of quality direct thermal paper, board and synthetic products, specialising in the manufacture of thermally reactive coatings for specific types of paper, board and synthetic film substrates.

Mark Sensing remains at the forefront of new product innovation through our in-house research and development facility allowing us to offer consistent and high quality products at internationally competitive prices.

General applications for Mark Sensing products include point-of-sale vouchers, airline baggage tags, self adhesive labels, gaming and wagering systems rolls and tickets, recording instrument products for the medical, mining, exploration and meat processing industries, security and anti-forgery products, venue tickets, transit tickets for buses, trams and trains.

Mark Sensing’s customised products are available on a wide range of base materials, from fine papers and boards to synthetic films, using a variety of different coating formulations for better results. A 100 gsm top coated thermal paper that possesses high sensitivity. It has excellent image stability towards heat, humidity, fluorescent light and oil. It has very good image stability to water immersion and plasticisers as well as good stability to aqueous alcohol. Its good all-round abilities make it suitable in many different applications, as boarding passes, cinema and venue tickets with an improved back of bill printability.

A 115 gsm top coated thermal paper that possesses high sensitivity. It has excellent image stability towards heat, humidity, fluorescent light and oil. It has very good image stability to water immersion and plasticisers as well as good stability to aqueous alcohol. Its good all-round abilities make it suitable in many different applications such as tickets and receipt rolls.

A 130 gsm top coated thermal paper that possesses high sensitivity. It has excellent image stability towards water, alcohol, plasticizer and oil/fat. It has very good image stability to water immersion and plasticisers as well as good stability to aqueous alcohol. Its good all-round abilities make it suitable in many different applications. The data provided is based on small production runs. This product is suitable for tickets and retail shelf tags.

A 175 gsm top coated thermal board that possesses high sensitivity. It has excellent image stability towards heat, humidity, fluorescent light and oil. It has very good image stability to water immersion and plasticiser as well as good stability to and aqueous alcohol. Its good all-round abilities make it suitable in many different applications. This product is particularly suitable for tickets and boarding passes.

A 175 gsm top coated thermal board laminated using a multi purpose permanent acrylic adhesive with a white 60gsm / 64um glassine liner. The face stock possesses high sensitivity; it has excellent image stability towards heat, humidity, fluorescent light and oil. It has very good image stability to water immersion and plasticiser as well as good stability to and aqueous alcohol.

A 225 gsm top coated thermal board that possesses high sensitivity. It has excellent image stability towards heat, humidity, fluorescent light and oil. It has very good image stability to water immersion and plasticiser as well as good stability to and aqueous alcohol. Its good all-round abilities make it suitable in many different applications. This product is particularly suitable for tickets and boarding passes.

An 85 gsm top coated thermal paper with medium sensitivity and outstanding background stability to heat exposure. Good image resistance to heat, humidity, water and fluorescent light. Used for outdoor car parking tickets and applications where the stock may be exposed to high temperatures (up to 90ºC) or come into contact with hot (< 90ºC) aqueous based liquids for a short period. This is a suitable product for tickets or receipts where heat resistance is required.

A 110 micron top coated polypropylene thermal stock designed with outstanding background stability to heat exposure. It has very good image stability to fluorescent light, heat, humidity, alcohol and water. Ideally suited for outdoor car parking tickets and applications where the stock may be exposed to high temperatures (up to 95ºC) without the background discolouring.

An 80μ fully top coated polypropylene thermal stock that has outstanding background stability to heat exposure. It has excellent image stability towards humidity, fluorescent light, plasticiser and oil. It has very good image resistance to heat, water immersion and aqueous alcohol. It is especially suited for applications where the stock may be exposed to high temperatures (up to 100ºC) or come into contact with hot (<100ºC) aqueous based liquids for short periods. This stock is a made to order product and is commonly used in the meat industry for applications such as carcass tags and meat inserts.

A 90 micron high sensitivity polypropylene thermal stock with very good fingerprint and smudge resistance, as well as good image stability to heat, humidity and fluorescent light. Used for airline baggage labels and other general laminated applications.

A 163gsm Non-Thermal woodfree uncoated paperboard offering remarkable printability on both sides and is designed for thermal printing and speciality coatings.

Carcass Tags
Mark Sensing can manufacture carcass tags in any size, design and quantity per roll including, but not limited to 750, 800, 1000, 1250, 1900. We have generic stock available on our shelves if required. Please contact us for a sample.

Product Quality

Mark Sensing’s Research and Development Team of qualified chemists oversees the quality of our products as they are produced to ensure that they comply with the specifications detailed in our Product Data Sheets. They also develop the specialist grades required by our customers that are suitable for the varying environmental conditions to which the product may be exposed, such as heat, water, plasticiser, oil, humidity, alcohol and water resistance.

In addition, our quality control personnel rigorously monitor all aspects of the production process from the input of raw materials, throughout the manufacturing and application of thermal coating processes, to the printing and converting of the finished product.

Mark Sensing’s in-house laboratory facility offers us the opportunity to test the multi-feed and print capability of our products across a wide range of printers. This in turn allows us to work co-operatively with the manufacturers of the thermal printers to further enhance our products.

Product Warranty & Accreditation

Product Warranty

Mark Sensing applies stringent quality control to all manufactured products. We have installed our own thermal printers to carry out in-house printing tests on our products to ensure they are of the highest quality and are compatible with the direct thermal printers currently in use.

Due to the specialised nature of thermal products, it is critical that the correct handling, packaging and storage conditions are observed to achieve optimum product performance.

SHELF-LIFE.
Mark Sensing thermal products should be stored in dark conditions with a relative humidity between 45% and 65% and with a temperature below 25°C to ensure the performance of the product for at least three years from its date of manufacture.

STABILITY.
Once Mark Sensing thermal products have been fully imaged, the print will remain legible for five years, providing the documents are stored with compatible materials and under the appropriate storage conditions.

PRINT-HEAD WARRANTY.
Mark Sensing has full confidence in the print performance of all of our direct thermal products. We guarantee that they will not increase the print-head wear when compared to competing products. Mark Sensing provides each customer with a guarantee that the print-head will provide more than 30,000 linear metres of print before any print-head resistor failure is caused by product wear.
